Staff
Each employee must take 30 training hours every two years; 15 hours need to be taken within the first 6 months of employment.
The training required by New York State Social Services Law includes nine topic areas.
These required training topics are listed below:
- Principles of Childhood Development
- Safety and Security Procedures
- Child Abuse and Maltreatment
- Statues and Regulations Pertaining to Child Day Care
- Nutrition and Health Needs of Infants and Children
- Business Records
- Child Day Care Program Development
- Statutes and Regulations Pertaining to Child Abuse and Maltreatment
- Education and Information on the identification, Diagnosis and Prevention of Shaken Baby Syndrome
We also require our staff to be CPR and First Aid trained. This can also count towards your thirty hours of training.
Additional training is needed to administer medication to children in our care. If this is something you are willing to pursue and receive a Medication Administering Training Certificate. (MAT) Please let us know. |
